Research Abstract

ステンレス鋼やニッケル合金は耐熱耐食材料として優れ、非常に過酷な環境で使用されるが、結晶粒界から腐食や破壊が発生することが未解決の大きな問題である。本研究では材料中の結晶粒界での原子配列を制御して、腐食や割れを起こしにくい対応粒界の密度を非常に高くする粒界工学制御技術の開発に成功した。その技術で作製した材料は通常の材料に比べて著しく高い特性を持ち、高い安全性と長寿命が実現することを実証した。
