Research Abstract

分裂酵母のヘテロクロマチンはヘテロクロマチン内で転写されるnon-coding RNA(ncRNA)及びRNAi機構に依存して形成される。この系がどのように成り立ち制御されているのか、分子遺伝学的、分子生物学的手法を駆使して解析をおこなった。その結果ncRNAを転写するRNAポリメラーゼIIがこのシステムで果たす役割を明確にするともに、ヘテロクロマチン内でのncRNA転写制御機構の一端を明らかにした。さらにこのシステムで機能する新規因子の同定に成功した。
