Research Abstract

精子が雌性生殖器内で子宮から輸卵管へ移動し、卵管膨大部で卵子と融合するまでの過程で起こるさまざまな仕組みを明らかにするために研究を行った。精子セリンプロテアーゼPRSS21の欠損マウス精子を調べ、子宮や卵管分泌液中には精子の受精能を賦与する因子が存在することを発見した。また、PRSS21が透明帯上での精子アクロソーム反応で重要な役割を果たしていることも明確にした。さらに、精子ヒアルロニダーゼHYAL5 SPAM1の欠損マウス精子を解析し、受精にはヒアルロニダーゼが必須ではないことを証明し、卵子卵丘細胞複合体に精子排除機構があることを提唱した。
