Research Abstract

快い匂い情報の受容が感性を発現する脳活動に与える効果について、本能の上位機構としての前頭葉と実行機構としての視床下部を中心に研究した。ヒト脳に関する光トポグラフィ解析では柑橘類の匂いの受容が前頭葉の神経活動を鎮めることが示唆された。また、動物実験では同種の匂い受容が視床下部のストレス反応を調節する神経細胞の活動を鎮静化することが示された。今後は、人間のストレス反応に対する効果を検証する必要がある。
