Research Abstract

神経認識分子NB-2はコンタクチン5とも呼ばれ、聴覚系神経回路で特に顕著に発現している。本研究では、先ずNB-2が音の聞こえ始める直前に発現が強くなり、特に高周波数に反応する領域で発現していることを明らかにした。次に、遺伝子欠損型マウスと野生型マウスで聴覚系神経回路の発達と機能を比較し、遺伝子欠損型マウスでは特に興奮性の神経回路のシナプス部位に異常があり、その結果、一部の神経細胞が細胞死を起こしていること、音に対する脳幹の反応に遅れが出ることを明らかにした。
