Research Abstract

本研究では、人々の生活リスクに対する認知・対処と生活評価の実態について、日本・米国での質問紙を用いた社会調査によって明らかにした。主な結果として、日本人は米国人に比べて生活リスクに対する不安の程度が高く、客観的な安全だけではなく主観的な安心を重視する傾向を強く示していた。さらに、日本人は自らリスク対処を実践していてもそれを充分効果的だとは評価しておらず、いっぽうで公助や共助にも大きな期待を持てずにいるという結果となった。
