Research Abstract

海洋性珪藻の炭酸脱水酵素が葉緑体内で顆粒状に複合体を形成する機構を決定した。また、遺伝子発現レベルでのCO_2応答に必須な新規分子スイッチを見出し、このCO_2依存的な制御にサイクリックAMPと呼ばれる2次情報伝達分子が関わることを明らかにした。これらの結果は海洋性珪藻の効率的なCO_2固定と、その環境CO_2依存的調節の分子機構解明に寄与する結果であり、海洋表層に於ける主要なCO_2固定系を制御する分子機構の理解に資するものである。
