Research Abstract

インドの宗教的空間に関する画像データを整理し、関連する文字情報を加えて統合的なデータベースを構築し、HP上で公開した。データの集積をふまえ、インドの宗教的空間を構成する要素を1.概念的空間、2.造形的空間、3.建築的空間、4.実践的空間、5.歴史的空間という5つの観点から考察した。隣接分野の研究者の参加を得て、研究会を7回にわたって開催し、インドの宗教的空間の多様性と、そこにみられる共通性を学際的な視点から明らかにした。さらに、インドの宗教的空間の象徴性は、当時の政治的・社会的情勢との関係、さらに王権と宗教という問題があることが指摘された。
