| Research Abstract |
一般兵士総体を英雄として顕彰する傾向が強い近現代日本に較べると、フランスにおいては、高級将軍に英雄性を見る傾向が強く、イギリスにおいては、特定の人物ないし勢力を軍事英雄として称揚する傾向がもともと弱いことが確認された。また、ヨーロッパ全体を視野に入れると、第一次世界大戦以降の戦没者慰霊の儀礼方法には共通性が多々見られ、そのこと自体が、顕彰には政治的意図が込められていることを物語っていると考えられる
