Research Abstract

結晶構造の幾何学的特性のために、低温でも大きなエントロピーが残る「幾何学的にフラストレートした磁性体」の典型例が、「スピンアイス」の現象を示すパイロクロア酸化物である.スピンアイスの残留エントロピー状態の本性を明確にすることを目的に、純良単結晶を用いて低温までの磁気緩和を研究した.その結果、磁気誘電応答、磁化、核磁気共鳴などによって、低温でも磁気緩和が強く残ることを明らかにした.また金属スピンアイスや金属三角格子など関連のフラストレート磁性体の物性も開拓した.
