Research Abstract

隣接するスピン間に相互作用が存在しても、構造に関する厳しい制約があると、磁石のようなスピンを揃える相転移を起こすことが出来ない。この代表例が二次元の三角格子であり、その場合、低温でスピン液体という特殊な状態になることが予見されている。本研究では、極低温領域で微小結晶の熱測定を行う装置の開発をすすめ、75mK の低温から熱容量を測定し、スピン液体形成の熱力学的な証拠を得ることに成功した。
