Research Abstract |
エチレン空気予混合火炎にCO_2レーザーを照射すると、未燃混合気にレーザーが吸収され、局所的に任意の変形を与えることができる。この手法を用いて、予混合火炎面の火炎曲率と伝播火炎面に現れる不安定現象の相互関係を調べた。火炎に径の小さなレーザーを照射し一定値(5~6cm-1)を超える曲率を与えると、火炎先端の伝播速度が時間的に変動する不安定現象が現れることを見出した。また、この要因が先端で生じる熱物質拡散不安定性と伸張消炎と類似の物理的意味をもつ曲率消炎により引き起こされるとする物理モデルを提示した。
