Research Abstract

嗅覚センサを搭載し、匂い・ガスを辿って危険物の所在を突き止める犬型ロボットの開発を目指した。ナノスケールの周期構造を持つ金属薄膜に光を照射すると、化学物質の吸着に敏感に応答し、反射光強度が変化する。これを利用して小型嗅覚センサを実現した。また、くんくんと匂いを嗅ぐ犬の鼻の構造を模倣した測定装置を開発した。能動的に気流を操作し、左右の嗅覚センサの応答差を拡大することにより、匂い・ガスの発生源を容易に見つけ出すことができる。
