Research Abstract

球形単分散微金属粒子をテラヘルツ波長に対応する格子周期で複雑な3次元構造にも配列できる革新的方法の研究を行った。従来の粒子配列法では、大きく分けて粒度分布と粒子配列精度とに起因して粒子中心点が配列すべき格子点座標からずれを生じ、これが周期性など配列格子精度に大きく影響を及ぼす。本研究では配列する粒子の中心点を格子点座標に一致させ、この影響を限りなく排除することができる新技術を確立した。その結果、作製した3次元人工結晶は非常に精度よく作製されていることが実証され、0.203~0.215THzにおいて、ほぼ完全なフォトニックバンドギャップが形成されていることを明らかにした。
