Research Abstract

本研究はクリーンエネルギー源としての水素の有効利用に必須である触媒開発を念頭に、Ptをベースとする2元合金モデル触媒表面を構築しその化学特性を検討したものである。具体的には、超高真空中で表面科学の手法に基づき原子レベルで構造を規定したPt-Fe表面を分子線エピタキシ(MBE)法により作製し、その表面分子挙動と最表面構造との関係について議論した。その結果、高温で熱処理したPt-Fe合金最表面は基板Pt原子が表面偏析して生じたPtスキン層が生成し、特異な分子挙動を示し触媒特性の改善に関与することを明らかにした。
