Research Abstract |
To reduce production cost of poly-lactic acid from biomass, we proposed onsite cell plant system of integrated production combined fermentation process, separation and refining process and synthesis process. It is necessary to make the processes to be satisfied with onsite specifications, that is, simple, compact, safety high productivity and long lifetime. The followings were clear for three processes : 1. Fermentation process: ・Fresh cassava root and tofu liquid waste are useful for substrate and media, respectively. ・Streptococcus bovis fermented directly lactic acid from starch without saccharification 2. Separation and refining process ・Yield of esterification of lactic acid was affected by the starch concentration. ・The esterification of lactic acid with butanol have highest conversion at 124℃ 3. Synthesis process ・Poly lactic acid with molecular weight of 90kDalton was obtained without catalysis ・Poly lactic acid with molecular weight of 20kDalton was obtained by direct reaction in 24hours.
