Research Abstract

アリ植物オオバギ属は, 東南アジアの湿潤熱帯雨林に限定して分布し, 幹内に共生するアリおよびカイガラムシと三者絶対相利共生系を構成している. 本研究では共生アリおよびカイガラムシそれぞれについて種分化と多様化の歴史を詳細に明らかにし, 共進化の地理的側面を解明した. DNA分子系統解析の結果, 両者の多様化がボルネオを中心にここ1-2千万年の間に起こったこと, ボルネオ以外の地域では何度も絶滅が起こり, ボルネオからの移入によって種多様性が維持されてきたこと, 両者の氷期レフュジアおよび多様性の中心地はボルネオ北部の北西域の山地帯であることなどが明らかになった.
