Research Abstract

海水湖毎に亜種にまで分化したタコクラゲに共生している渦鞭毛藻類(Symbiodinium spp.)も宿主同様、遺伝的に分化しているかどうかを葉緑体コード遺伝子psbAミニサークルDNAの非コード領域を分子マーカーとして集団遺伝学的に調査した。その結果、宿主の分化(亜種)よりもむしろ海水湖毎に固有のハプロタイプ(主要ハプロタイプとそれと1ないし2塩基異なる派生ハプロタイプ)が存在することが判明した。海水湖の地理的隔離の程度に依存して集団の遺伝的分化が振興していると理解できた。
