Research Abstract

脊椎動物の網膜には、大きく6種類の神経細胞が分化し、層構造を形成する。我々の研究から、網膜における層構造形成には、接着分子であるN-cadherinが重要であることが示唆されている。本研究では、網膜分化におけるN-cadherinの役割について研究を行った。その結果、N-cadherinは、網膜前駆細胞が神経細胞分化のステップに入るのに重要であること、また、神経細胞分化の後には、視神経が眼球から出て視蓋へ投射するステップに重要であることが明らかになった。
