Research Abstract

ナタネの細胞質雄性不稔はミトコンドリア遺伝子orf125 が原因遺伝子であることが知られているが、 Brassica rapa を交配した後代で稔性が回復することが観察された。この稔性回復が核の1遺伝子(Fr)により、orf125 のコピー数が減少することで引き起こされること、 Fr の遺伝子型により稔性回復の程度が決まることを見出した。さらに、核コードの稔性回復遺伝子orf687 が存在することで、Fr 遺伝子によるコピー数の減少が起こらないことが観察された。
