Research Abstract |
病原菌の生産する宿主特異的毒素、活性酸素、細胞外物質の役割を明らかにした。毒素は感受性植物に罹病性反応だけでなく、抵抗性・修復反応といった予想外の細胞応答を引起こした。侵入菌糸に生じる活性酸素の生成を止めると、感染を阻止できた。菌が分泌する細胞外物質は菌と植物表面に間に集積するが、この物質は宿主粘着因子からなることが分かった。この因子を酵素で分解すると、菌は宿主から剥離し病害が抑制された
