Research Abstract

鉄や硫黄を酸化してエネルギーを得る細菌を使用して, 硫化鉱石から銅やウランなどの金属を溶出させる技術にバクテリアリーチングがある。これまでの細菌は, NaCl存在下では増殖ができないため, 海洋環境などのようにNaClを含む環境下でのバクテリアリーチングは不可能だった。本研究では, そのような環境でバクテリアリーチングを可能にするために分離した細菌の, 硫黄酸化に関与する酵素や遺伝子の構造を明らかにした
