Research Abstract |
This study was aimed at designing and implementing a large-scale perioperative database which contributes to the patient safety and presents an instance of healthcare IT infrastructure and healthcare databases. The study is unique in that the database contains multiple specialty data of the surgical domain and is aiming at being a benchmark of the domain. Appling modern statistical analysis tools and data mining techniques may enable to present evidences, clinical indicators and guidelines. A large-scale perioperative database was designed and implemented. In design phase, database schemas and application framework were presented. Data mining techniques were applied and showed the possibilities of new analytical approaches.
