Research Abstract

難治性中枢神経変性疾患では、神経細胞の変性およびアストロサイトの異常活性化が起こることがよく知られているが、その詳細には不明な点が多く残されている。本研究ではこれら細胞種に発現するカチオンチャネルに焦点を当て検討した結果、TRPM2およびTRPV1が脳虚血傷害様の刺激により惹起される神経細胞死を媒介することを明らかにした。さらに脳出血由来因子thrombinにより惹起されるアストロサイト異常活性化にTRPC3が重要な役割を果たすことが明らかになり、これらのチャネルの治療標的としての有用性が示唆された。
