Research Abstract

動物実験に用いられるマウスやラットの日和見病原体である肺パスツレラ菌の遺伝学的性質を詳しく調べた。日和見病原体とは健康な動物には病気を起こさないが、抵抗力のない動物には病気を起こす病原体のことである。その結果、本菌は3つのグループに大きく分けられた。その一つについて免疫不全マウスに対する病原性を調べたところ、全身感染を起こして死亡した。免疫不全マウスとは抵抗力の低下している動物のことで、病原性とは病気を起こす能力を意味する。
