Research Abstract |
It was clarified that scientific knowledge concerning the development of movement in the infancy and early childhood was useful for instructing the movement to the child. For instance, schoolchildren stop, and pass the baton in the relay race. In order to solve this problem, schoolchildren practiced as follows. Two children ran side by side, and a baton was passed to one child by the other child while both were running. The theoretical base of this practice is the knowledge concerning the development of movement in the infancy and early childhood that two infants can run together hand in hand. It was possible to improve the motion of the child to pass the baton as a result of the practice. The child (the outgoing runner) was able to start running in anticipation of the movement of the other child (the incoming runner) who came near to changeover box. And the baton could be passed while both were running. Another example should be indicated. It was taught to a six-year-old child to ride on a bicycle. A movement task was given to the child, to move the handle bar right and left in order to ride on a bicycle. This practice is based on the feature of infant's movement. Without having the definite direction to the target, infant's movement is carried out. The child was able to ride a bicycle without difficulty as a result of the practice.
