Research Abstract

ddYマウスに高スクロース食、あるいは高脂肪食を11週間摂取させたところ、どのマウスも肥満とともに脂肪肝を発症した。脂肪肝はメタボリックシンドローム発症に関係する。このモデルマウスを用い、10en%魚油の脂肪肝への効果について調べた。その結果、高スクロース食による脂肪肝を魚油は抑制した。これは高スクロース食によって肝臓でさかんになった脂肪酸合成が魚油によって抑えられたためであった。一方、高脂肪食による脂肪肝を魚油はさらに悪化させた。これは、高脂肪食によって活性化されたPPARγを魚油がさらに活性化し、また、インシュリン抵抗性が生じたためであった。以上の結果から、脂肪肝の原因によって魚油の効果が異なることが明らかになった。
