Research Abstract

北日本夏期天候の5年周期変動をもたらす要因について、現地気象観測を含め多面的に解析した。北日本と太平洋西部熱帯域の気象要素はロスビー波の伝播を通じて同時的に変動しており、その波源域に属するインドネシアに関して、北日本の夏期気圧とジャワ島における降水量との同時的変動、水稲収量・植生指数にみられる5年周期変動、およびそれらと大規模場との有意な関係、等を明らかにすることができた。
