Research Abstract

政治が民主化すると、政治暴力の形態はどのように変容するのか。インドネシアを事例として、3年間の実証研究を行った。本研究で明らかにしたことは暴力の拡散化の実態である。民主化以前には、政治暴力の中心的な担い手は軍であったが、民主化の結果、各地で「新たな」政治エリートが台頭し、彼らが「新たな」暴力の担い手を育て、そこに軍が間接的に関与する実態について、3つの政治局面(選挙・開発・紛争地)で確認した。この新たな政治エリートによる暴力の政治的リサイクルは、民主化の産物であり、そのロジックを理解することが、国際的な民主化支援や平和構築支援を行う際にも重要であることを、研究成果として国内外に発信した。
