Research Abstract |
1 Research on Mass media Ethics and Journalism Ethics Examining various problems of mass media and journalism at the present day (widespread distrust in journalism, media-scrum journalist clubs, reports on crimes which reveal the names of the suspects, and so on), we reveal that freedom of press agencies is distinct from citizen's freedom of the press and freedom of professionalized industrialized and concentrated press agencies, therefore, needs an additional justification, which claims the press to be responsible. 2 Development of the NIE curriculum in School With the cooperation of Momoyama Junior High School attached to Kyoto University of Education, we developed NIE curriculum in junior high school which cultivates society-literacy (to be a full-fledged citizens) and media-literacy (to be a wise and critical readers/ audience). In the school teachers-training course of university, we developed introductory course of NIE which contains a joint NIE program of university students and junior high school students.
