Research Abstract |
Hushimi Emperor's Hirosawa-gire, a volume of waka poems written and selected by himself, is very valuable. However, all of them have not remained as a form of books (kansubon). In order to value handwriting too much, a part of them were cut and remained as what was called 'dannkan' and drafts which were the former shapes of books. We should trace these collections back to "Hushimi Tenno Gyoseisyu" as a comprehensive study published in 1943. Both "Shikashutaisei"and "Shinpen-Kokkataikan"published afterwards are collected from books only. This time, these collections are intended to study all kinds of his works included 'dankan'. There are well over three thousand waka poems. However, in investigating Hirosawa-gire I found out among them that there are mixed others' waka poems bearing a strong resemblance to his hand writing, that is, Gohushimi Emperor's poems, and Saionji Sanekane's poems. In the study of Kyogoku-ha waka poems in Medieval Period, Hirosawa-gire is the basic and main materials. I will translate all of the collections, make explanatory notes of the problems and I would like to publish it.
