Research Abstract

テロ、民族紛争、戦争、あるいは失業、貧困、犯罪、人種差別、性差別、環境汚染といった問題が地球的規模で浮上してきた過去一世紀に、そうした問題と取り組み、知と癒しを提供するべく、古典ギリシア劇・神話に人間の知の原点を求めて書かれた、アイルランド、イギリス、アメリカの劇芸術(詩劇、演劇、パフォーマンス)を取り上げ、具体的にどのように古典が翻訳・翻案され、いかなる社会的役割を果たし、美学的意義がそこに投影されているのかを考察した。
