Tsuneo Matuura In「The Change of Program Chart of Peking opera」 , I rearranged the formal change of program chart of Peking opera and added initial considerations about its historical meanings. Little has been known about the program chart of Peking opera in both Japan and China. After collecting and rearranging the program chart which was scattered in both Japan and China, I analyzed historical development of Peking opera and its historical connection, mainly focusing the time before the Republic of China, which primarily consists of the change of its forms and contents between Peking and Shanghai over time. Naoko Hujino : In 「Zhou Xin-fang and 『Critic of Play』」, I examined how Zhou Xin-fang, who represents the Peking opera of Shanghai at the area of developing of the Republic of China, was evaluated concerning his criticism. To investigate the aspects of change of the criticism made by Zhou Xin-fang, I analyzed the articles of newspaper and magazine of play in detail from 1920s to 1940s, and extracted typical issues from those. Thus, this study found that appraisal about him was constructed gradually from the time before the Republic of China. Yusuke Misu In 「On Performance of 『秋海棠』 in Shen-Qu(申曲)」, I rearranged and added initial considerations the circumstances of performance, Shen-Qu 『秋海棠』, at the time before the Republic of China. It was of originated from the novel written by Tai Shou-ou, which published as the book in 1942 after serializing in the Shen-Bao(申報) from 1941 to 1942.
