| Research Abstract |
本研究は平成16年(2004)6月に熊本県立図書館で新たに発見されたラフカディオ・ハーン(小泉八雲)による松江時代の二人の学生(大谷正信、田辺勝太郎)の英作文の添削95 枚のガラス乾板の正確な判読と復元を行い、さらにこれに日本語訳を付記することによって教育者ハーンの実像に迫るための基礎資料を作成することであった。このことは我が国のハーン研究のみならず比較文化論における異文化コミュニケーションの領域に新たな一石を投ずるものと思われる。
