Research Abstract

現代インド在地社会の民主化は、普遍主義的な民主主義の制度と価値が地域社会に受け入れられていく過程とみるべきではない。むしろ地域の人々が、民主主義の制度および精神と、在地の価値と倫理を結びつけようとする積極的な動きがある。オリッサ地域社会においては、ヒエラルヒーと支配の構造を批判しながら、同時に、多元的な社会集団がそれぞれ権利と発言権を獲得するために、新たに再解釈された平等主義的なカーストの枠組みが用いられている。
