Research Abstract

第一に、研究開発競争における競争優位の源泉として、スピード、異なる技術分野の知識融合、及びサイエンスの吸収能力が重要であることを、米国の特許データを利用して実証的に検証した。また、特許審査においても日本企業の特許出願の多くが古い特許文献で拒絶されていることも統計的に明らかにした。第二に、技術の補完性が高い分野においては、健全な研究開発競争を促す制度(特許制度、競争政策)の構築・運用が特に重要であることも示した。
