Research Abstract

(1) Industrial high school graduate's course has been transformed. The ratio of university Department of Engineering and technical school has increased. The dichotomy like engineering work and manual work, etc. doesn't have the meaning among employment in the industrial sector any longer, and the occupational category of a new type of the design, the development, and the system operator, etc. increases.
(2) In the relation between the industrial high school and the local community, the industrial high school commiting internships and dual systems needs support of industry in local community. Increasing is demand for contribution to accumulation and the activation of industry in local community by the supply of graduate's manpower.
(3) Paying attention to to what extent the education is useful for the work after graduates. Adaptable fighting potential and practical ability are requested in Singapore. The occupation high school in Singapore keeps close cooperation with the enterprise than Japan, and put effort into training industrial high school students practical. The contribution of the local company to activate industrial high school includes donating the same equipment and machine as company uses in their factory, and sending delegate to the curriculum board of the individual high school.
(4) Practical ability is not so emphasized in Japanese industrial high school education. In Japanese industrial high school education, traditionally the trainability is valued. Trainability includes concern, zeal, discipline and attitude etc. for industry.
(5) There are two types of Trainability. One is a type which values the basic knowledge and skill and the other is a type which values "humanistic aspect of man power". The humanistic aspect of man power is the overall ability consist of concern, zeal, discipline attitude, endurance, ability to arrange and communications skills. The word humanistic aspect of man powers ware repeatedly mentioned in the hearing survey in Japan.
