Research Abstract |
This is a study of creativity in the child's drawing. Concretely, the theory for the understanding of creativity was obtained from the writing of Gibson, Deleuze, and Krishnamurti. And, the method of carefully observing, recording, analyzing, and considering not only a completed drawing but also child's drawing process was adopted in the investigation. I show the result by three viewpoints. 1) Drawing Drawing is one method for perceiving environment. The meaning and the value (affordance) of the object are perceived by trying to catch the affordance of the line out. The perception fixes the line. In a creative drawing process, it is activated gradually and changes to what actually functions. That is, a realistic relation between the picture and me is constructed. The drawing is a kind of exploration map which is drawn while moving about in environment. 2) Creativity General creativity doesn't exist. Creativity is in the various possibilities of contact with a subject and environment. Contact means perception and the action. And, the creation is in not the result but the process. The center of creativity in the drawing is in perception. 3) Drawing Education Even if the drawing education is to find out at the world by line drawing, I cannot teach how to find out. The education comes to encourage the child to see the world for myself. It is important for us to make all possible devices and preparations so that the opportunity for a child to have such experience may increase. That is, they are presentation of a significant environmental world for the child and an interesting motif, addressing to lead to the attention etc.
