Research Abstract |
The 60-cm radio telescope at Nobeyama, which is operated as collaboration between NAOJ and the University of Tokyo, was up-grated by replacement of the receiver before starting this research. Using this telescope we made a galactic plane survey in the CO (2-1) line and got more sensitive data over larger coverage with denser sampling than published before(Sakamoto, et al. 1995). The data at b=0, which were observed in the first season, we finished the data analysis and found the several results on the molecular gas in the Galactic disk region as follows. We found the line intensity ratio of CO (2-1) to CO(1-0) decreases in the R<4kpc region, to which the previous study cannot access. This decease is opposite trend in the R>6kpc region. Using the subsamples divided by the volume emissivity or the line intensity ratio itself from our survey data we found the different radial trend of the line ratio. In both criteria the subsample which are expected in the spiral arm show less difference along the galacto-centric radius. The radial difference of the line ratio is mainly attributed to the interarm gas. These discoveries will be published soon. We also made observations of the Galactic center region in the NH_3 lines with the 6-m radio telescope at Kagoshima. We observed three metastable lines, those are the NH_3 (1, 1), (2, 2), and (3, 3) lines. The data in the (1, 1) and (2, 2) lines show that the molecular gas temperature in the Central Molecular Zone is higher than the dust temperature over the whole CMZ. We have finished the data analysis for the all three lines and the new results will be published soon.
