Research Abstract

液滴の生成は自然現象として観察されるだけでなく、燃焼や蒸発など産業のあらゆる分野で応用されている。この現象は表面張力の作用によるが、その生成機構は完全に理解されているわけではない。例えば、生成する液滴は人為的に制御しない限り幅広い液滴径分布をもつが、何がその分布を決定するかを明らかにすることは一般に容易ではない。本研究では、界面が断裂して液滴が生成する直前の界面形状のダイナミクスに注目し、そのスケーリング則の遷移過程を数値シミュレーションによって検討した。また、二っの液滴生成機構、DrippingとJettingの遷移過程についても同様に検討した。その結果、有限Re数のスケーリング則はRe-0のスケーリング則に遷移することを確認した。また、DrippingとJettingの遷移は、We数とCa数で整理できることを確認した
