Research Abstract

地震波でみる上部マントル構造は、表層200kmに特徴をもつ。大陸域では、表層200kmに高地震波速度・低速度勾配・低減衰の領域をもつ構造が、観測される地震波を説明する。化学組成の違いと関係する可能性がある。沈み込み帯では、地震波速度不連続の不均質構造や低減衰がみられる。一部は、沈み込むプレートの表れと考えられる。200km以浅の沈み込むプレートの構造は、地震の起こり方の特徴から、水の分布に関係している可能性がある。
