Research Abstract

本研究は、アマミノクロウサギとその近縁属全体の系統進化と古生物地理を明らかにする研究のパート2である。直接の祖先とされるプリオペンタラグス属とアジア、ヨーロッパ、アフリカから知られる絶滅・現生の近縁属とは、アフリカへの拡散が二度あったことや、絶滅したプリオペンタラブス属の北アメリカおよびヨーロッパへの拡散を遺伝学的に説明できるなど、予想以上にダイナミックに進化してきたことが明らかになった。
