Research Abstract |
Absolute values for single and double electron capture cress sections for singly and doubly charged ions of tungsten, nickel, iron, boron and beryllium colliding with gaseous targets have been obtained at 0.5 to 32 keV. The target gases studied were inert gases of helium, neon, argon and krypton and molecular gases of hydrogen, carbon incur: rode, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane, ethane and propane. Apart of the results has been published in the Journal of Plasma and Fusion Research in 2006 and another part was submitted to the Journal of Chemical Physics in March, 2008. We are preparing two more articles to submit in fixture. A database for experimental charge transfer cross sections has been constructed and opened to public since September, 2006. In the present, it provides 1766 records of cross sections about 486 collision systems with bibliographic data and comments, compiled from papers published in 2004, 2005 and 2006. These outcomes were presented in 4 international conferences or workshops (International Conference on Atomic and Molecular Data and Their Applications ; October 2006, ER-JP/JP-KR Joint Workshop ; February 2007, International Conference on Photonic, Electronic and Atomic Collisions ; July 2007, Core University Program Workshop ; November 2007), where an agreement was made with IAEA representative to build a web search interface to our database in the IAEA Genie network (a GENeral Internet search Engine for atomic data). M. Imai will fly to Vienna in June, 2008 to provide consultants' advice on 'recent charge transfer cross section measurements for fusion related materials' presenting these outcomes and formulating a plan for construction of the interface in Genie.
