Research Abstract |
ヘムオキシゲナーゼ(HO)はヘム代謝系の律速酵素で、NADPH-シトクロムP450還元酵素から電子の供給を受け、ヘムを3段階からなる酸素依存性の反応によって分解し、ビリベルジン、一酸化炭素および鉄イオンを生成する。ビリベルジンは、ビリベルジン還元酵素によって直ちにビリルビンに還元される。本研究では、HOの触媒作用機序の解明と、ヘム代謝酵素および関連タンパク質の相互作用の探求を総合的に展開し、HOの生理機能を分子レベルで理解するための基盤作りを行った。
