Research Abstract

超多孔質半導体薄膜を光電極とし, 対極に酸素還元用電極を用いた一種の光燃料電池を提案, 構築し, これによりバイオマスや有機物, またその廃棄物や廃液を太陽光により高効率で分解浄化することに成功した. 固体状の懸濁物も含めて分解浄化できる. 少規模ではあるが, 同時に直接電力を取り出せる. その後新たにバイオ光化学電池と名付けた. 大型化はほぼ問題なく, 近い将来太陽光による環境浄化及び発電システムとしての実用化が期待される.
