Research Abstract

非環状テトラピロール系亜鉛錯体(亜鉛ビリノン)のらせん構造に基づく不斉(ヘリシティー)を利用して、新規な液晶用キラル添加剤を開発した。光学活性基の導入や分子間相互作用によってヘリシティーの制御された亜鉛ビリノンおよびその集積体をネマティック液晶にドープしたところ、極めて効率的にキラルネマティック相が誘起された。すなわち、キラル補助基から亜鉛ビリノンのヘリシティー、さらには液晶の不斉へと構造の掌性が階層的に伝搬することを利用して、高効率な液晶用キラル添加剤を創出することに成功した。
