Research Abstract |
In the present study, liquid entrainment limit was investigated experimentally by air-water and air-FC3283 experiment. The triangle and trapezoidal cross section micro channels were used. Channel length, flow rate, inlet quality were varied for the parametric survey. The weight of the entrained liquid droplets was measured at the gas phase exit to evaluate the liquid entrainment limit. The liquid entrainment limit is defined as the maximum flow rate when 1% of the inlet liquid flow rate was entrained as liquid droplets in the gas phase. As a result, the liquid entrain limit was correlated well using liquid film Reynolds number, Weber number, and modified Bond number. Finally, dimensionless correlations for predicting gas-liquid separation limits are proposed.
