Research Abstract

植物ホルモン類の一つジャスモン酸類(JAs)は、園芸上重要な作物であるチューリップやバラ科核果類植物において顕著に多糖性物質であるガムの溢泌を誘導する。球根植物であるチューリップ(アペルドーン品種)およびムスカリを対象とした外生的投与実験において、ガム形成はJAsとエチレンとの相互作用により制御されており、チューリップではJAsが、ムスカリではエチレンが主導的役割を果たしていること、さらに器官や植物体の齢の違いによりガム形成能が異なることを明らかにした。化学組成を調べた結果、チューリップとムスカリでは、ガムの分子量、中性糖・酸性糖の比、中性糖組成が著しく異なっており、植物種によりガム形成に関わる代謝が異なることが示唆された。また、スモモ果実を対象とした投与実験においてはガム形成がJAsとエチレンとの相互作用により制御されていることを示すとともに、機器分析により障害誘導性のガム形成時における両植物ホルモン類の増加を明らかにし、これらがガム形成の重要な内的制御因子であることを示唆した。
