Research Abstract

シロイヌナズナを用い、カドミウム(Cd)処理に伴う硫黄代謝系および各重金属リガンドの生合成系に関与する酵素遺伝子13個の発現量とリガンド生成量について検討したところ、Cd処理濃度で最も高発現している遺伝子は、フィトケラチン(PCs)合成酵素遺伝子(PCS1)であった。システイン合成能を強化した形質転換体ではPCS1遺伝子の高発現と同時にPCs含量が増加し、カドミウムによる生育抑制が顕著に軽減された。
