| Research Abstract |
植物と植食動物は食う-食われるの関係にある。この相互作用を通じて植物には様々な防衛手段が備わっている。樹木の葉は主に硬さや葉に含まれる消化阻害物質によって守られている。本研究は地上部で獲得された葉のこのような性質が落葉となった後の腐り易さにも影響を及ぼし、森林生態系における物質循環の速さをも左右することを実証した。
